Abstract

A novel chromatographic technique, pressurized flow-driven electrochromatography, that combines the features of both capillary high parformance liquid chromatography and capillary electrophoresis is introduced, in this paper. We report the investigation of the chromatographic behavior using a home-constructed electrochromatographic-system coupled with an ODS-packed capillary column. Experimental results were discussed in relation to theoretical considerations. We are also interested in exploring the potential advantages offered by pressurized flow-driven electrochromatography, e. g, oncolumn sample focusing and high resolution ability. In our preliminary study, the determination of salsolinol level in banana was used as an example of application of this technique.
