Abstract

In C/KOH/Ni(OH)2 hybrid capacitor system, Ni(OH)2 electrode should have the capability of taking electrochemical reaction quickly so as to match activated carbon electrode. Some modifications such as adding more quantities of electron conductor, ball milling the activated materials, and adulterating Ni (OH)2 with carbon nanotubes were carried out to improve the performance of Ni(OH)2 electrode. It was found that adding more tiny electron conductor in electrode could enhance the capacity and cycling performance of hybrid capacitor in high rate condition. Ball milling the activated materials would accelerate the activating course of hybrid capacitor. And aduterating Ni(OH)2 with carbon nanotubes which had a special electron conducting ability could improve the charge-discharge efficiency of hybrid capacitor and increase the capacitance of Ni(OH)2 electrode.
