Abstract

The unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is playing a more and more important role in the battlefield. However, it is difficult to be intercepted with traditional ways, and the innovative method should be explored to deal with it. High power microwave weapon (HPMW) has provided us with a new choice to fight against UAVs with many advantages. In this paper, the basic concept of high power microwave (HPM) pulse interference is introduced in detail, and the feasibility of electromagnetic interference against UAV is discussed. By constructing the system-level model and analyzing the vulnerable components of the UAV electromechanical subsystem with the simulation software, the variation of the system operation has been demonstrated. As a result, this work could provide theoretical basis and technical support for the research of HPM pulse interference against UAV.
