Abstract

For a SCJ (shaped charge jet), the wave-shaper deviation caused by defects in assembling tolerance affects the propagation of detonation wave and the liner collapsing. In this paper, Shock Physics Explicit Euler Dynamic (SPEED) software was applied to simulate the jet forming and penetration process with built-in offset wave-shaper. The detonation wave and the compression process were observed. Morphology of the deflected jet and the asymmetric entrance profile of the jet penetrating target were obtained. The calculation results show that the wave-shaper off-axis will make the detonation wave asymmetrical and the lateral velocity of the jet increases as the offset increases which causes lateral effects and makes the hole entrance irregular. When the wave-shaper offset reaches 0.0244CD, the penetration depth of the deflected jet decreases more than 50% compared to the stable jet.
