Abstract

The residual stress has a severe influence on the performance of strength, such as the fatigue life of parts and dimensional stability etc. The control and elimination of residual stress has been a hot but hard issue. Traditional control or elimination method is the heat treatment, impact and vibration and so on, however, the limitations of these methods prevent their development. Therefore, it is very important to study a simple and effective method of residual stress regulation. On the basis of high-energy ultrasonic theory, the theory of residual stress control is put forward, a control system based on high-energy ultrasonic is built. The stress regulation of aluminum alloy plate is carried out on this system, through the comparison of residual stress measured before and after regulation on aluminum alloy. It found the change regularity of residual stress, and confirm the feasibility of stress control with high-energy ultrasonic.
