    Abstract

The issue of carbon leakage concerns many industrialized countries. America, therefore, brought up a proposal of levying carbon tariffs on imports from countries that are not trying to cut greenhouse gases emission. In order to find whether or not carbon leakage from America to China exists in reality, this paper conducts an empirical study based on the import and export data of China and America. The result suggests that no clear evidence of carbon leakage from America to China exists, and even if it does, it is very weak.
