Abstract

Shared aperture multiband antenna has more application when the electromagnetic compatibility problem is more and more serious. A probe-fed patch microstrip antenna is presented and simulated by using Commercial Ansoft High Frequency Structure Simulator. The proposed antenna can find useful application in GPS generation satellite system. Many dual band shared aperture microstrip patch antenna has been designed but the research about five-band microstrip antenna which can work in L1, L2, L3 and S band at the same time was little. Two patches with two slits are used to achieve five operating frequency bands for GPS and S band including L1 (1.575 GHz), L2 (1.227 GHz), L3 (1.176 GHz), 2.01GHz and 3GHz. The proposed antenna has achieved a bandwidth of 4.6%, 2.1%, and 1.6% at L1, l2, and L5 bands, respectively.
