Abstract

This paper present a design for tightly coupled dipole array (TCDA) unit with microstrip tapered dipole and balun structure. Tapered dipole enhance directivity of TCDA unit. The infinite array is simulated by HFSS, which achieves 6:1 bandwidth(2-12GHz) with \pmb{\mathrm{VSWR} < 2.8, \pm 45 {\circ}} scanning in all planes, and \pmb{ < -10\mathrm{dB}} cross-polarization.
