Abstract

Aim To develop the high performance digital radar signal processor fitting with quasi-continuous wave tracking radar. Methods The conventional quadrature couple channels analog sampling was substituted with IF sampling. And in the design of the processor, general purpose float point DSP was used instead of the specific purpose DSP, and parallel architecture was also used. Results Comparing with the conventional analog realization, the method proposed here can double the mirror error rejection ratio. Conclusion IF sampling is very suitable for quasi-continuous wave radar. In addtion, taking the general purpose DSP as the hardware platform and realizing all the signal processing by software can simplify the design of the processor as well as increasing flexibility, so that it is a good idea for the development of signial processor.
