Abstract

In this paper, an approximate expression for the beam widening factor of linear Dolph-Chebyshev end-fire arrays is derived, based on the relationship between the beam-widths of end-fire and broadside arrays. The expression is verified accurate when the end-fire array is long enough. And finally the relationship between the beam widening factors of end-fire and broadside arrays obtains a reasonable physical explanation.
