Abstract

Aim To investigate an accurate analytical method for automotive exhaust gases. Methods Multi dimensional switching system was designed. And a ø0.53 mm × 40 m big bore A12O3 capillary was employed for the separation of hydrocarbons, and two stuck columns, i. e. 2 m propack-T and 1. 5 m 13X molecular sieve, for the separation of permanent gases. Results 12 species, i.e. O2,CO,CO2 and 9 components among hydrocarbons without more than 4 carbon atoms can be detected quantitatively with only one sampling, and 40 chromatography peaks were obtained in the automotive exhaust gases. Conclusion The analytical method worked out in this thesis is proved practical and reliable.
