    Abstract

A text-mining based approach of funding monitoring for science foundation was proposed, by identifying demands in the management of science foundation. Through computer visualizing algorithms and technologies of text mining, the valuable pattern was automatically found from numerous data related with funding facts, and represented as knowledge map, in purpose of supporting decision making of managers and experts. The general funding monitoring process and key technology were mainly illustrated, and then an empirical study about the International Academic Meeting in China (IAMC) of NSFC was demonstrated to verify its effectiveness.
