Abstract

This paper presents a temporal assembly model. So far there is not any published assembly model that is virtual environment (VE)-oriented and can well support 3-dimensional human-computer interaction (HCI). A VE-oriented assembly model is put forward and the basic elements of the model are analyzed respectively. The specification of the interaction process and the construction of semantics are provided and the algorithms based on the temporal model are also introduced. The practice shows that the participants' intents can be well expressed, local modifications and assembly planning is also well supported by the temporal model the authors put forward.
