Abstract
FEM (Finite element method) was adopted to analyze how the procedure of heat release affects the solid board of large-sized magnesium die casting machine. The temperature field, thermal displacement and thermal-stress of different design schemes, with and without lightening hole, are compared and analyzed, and the evaluation and suggestions of different design schemes were also given. FEA result shows that the lighten design scheme is practical and the lightening hole of the second design scheme can even lower the thermal-stress in some degree.
