Abstract
To measure mechanical properties of three groups of independently synthesized dental composite resins reinforced by different diameter nanodiamond (ND) clusters, -MPS modified ND (100, 220, 500nm) was added to a mixed resin matrix. Then flexural strength and elastic modulus were characterized for each resin. Mechanical properties of R-100 were significantly lower than that of the other two groups, while R-220 and R-500 presented relatively higher values except at 0.25% content. Results show that different diameter ND has different effects on mechanical properties of dental composite resin. ND of 220 and 500 nm performed better than of 100 nm.
