Abstract

4-Hydroxyphenethyl anisate, a natural compound existing in the Chinese medicinal herb Notopterygium incisum Ting and related intermediates have been synthesized from 4-hydroxy benzoic acid and methyl 4-hydroxyphenylacetate. Molecular structure of the compound has been verified through elemental analysis, IR, 1HNMR and MS spectroscopy.
