Abstract

Copolymers of fatty diacids/ricinoleic acid were synthesized from adipic acid, sebacic acid and ricinoleic acid through vacuum-melt polycondensation. The polycondensation conditions were optimized. The relative molecular mass of prepared polymer is as high as 13.8X104. The X-Ray diffraction and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) results revealed that copolymerization brought greatly down the crystallinities, hense the thermal properties were improved. Degradability of the copolymers were also measured. In comparasion with homopolymers, the synthesized copolymers exhibited highly degradable trend in the usual enviroment conditions.
