Abstract

Numerical simulation and experimental testing are used to research the wave propagation characteristics and the forming procedure of interfacial wave in grouted rock bolt during embedded concrete curing. Both show the wave propagation characteristics will change with concrete curing. The P-wave in the grouted rock bolt is very sensitive to mechanical characteristics of embedded material, and with the increasing of concrete strength it will disappear. When the strength of concrete get harder interfacial wave will form and dominate; the velocity of interfacial wave is related to embedded material so it can be used to measure grouted quality of rock bolt as well as grouted length.
