Abstract

A new method of fracture controlled blasting was presented, which makes use of different coupling mediums (water and gas) to carry blasting in the hole at the same time. Using different physical characteristics and transfer qualities of water and gas, this method can control the releasing process and effect direction of energy to control the fracture direction, which makes it possible to destroy one side of the wall rock and protect the other. The effect of blasting on surrounding medium was analyzed. By experiment, the strain and damage on different medium directions after blasting were compared, and the suffering force and distortion of mediums were reflected. The experiment shows that this kind of method can control the product and development of crack effectively. Therefore, it is an effective fracture controlled blasting method.
