Abstract

Mathematical models were established for the engine-generator set based on analyzing the working characteristics of engine, generator and ultra-capacitor in a series hybrid tracked bulldozer. A power flowing control strategy was proposed based on engine optimal fuel consumption curve. And then the simulation models were established, the control strategy was verified, and the fuel economy was analyzed. The results show that, in the set working condition of the bulldozer, fuel economy can reach 22.3% compared the power flowing control strategy based on engine optimal fuel consumption curve to the prototype with mechanical structure.
