Abstract

Pseudo random noise (PRN) code ranging technology is widely used in satellite navigation and aerospace measurement. In this paper, we analyzed the impact of high power amplifier (HPA) on PRN code ranging by combining the baseband ranging model with a HPA model simulated by advanced design system (ADS) software. Since our method takes into account the factors of the RF carrier, it is closer to the actual situation than the equivalent baseband model of HPA. The result shows that the maximum deviation of the ranging value can up to 0.8ns caused by the change of power.
