Abstract

Explosives may encounter various abnormal environmental accidents such as accidental falls during transportation, storage and use. Under these abnormal stimuli, explosives may burn, explode and other major accidents, thus causing irreparable losses. With the development of insensitive explosives, DNAN-based melt-cast explosives have been widely used. In order to study the dynamic mechanical properties of DNAN-based aluminized melt-cast explosives (RH-1), SHPB (Separate Hopkinson Pressure Bar) experiments were carried out to obtain the mechanical response of RH-1 explosives under different strain rates. A generalized viscoelastic-plastic statistical crack mechanics model (Visco-SCRAM) was established, and numerical calculations based on finite element simulation software of SHPB experiments with RH-1 explosives. The results indicate that RH-1 explosives obvious strain rate effect, with an observable increase in compressive strength as the strain rate rises; the validity of the established explosives constitutive model is verified by comparing the numerical simulation results with the experimental results.
