Abstract

The field of view (FOV) of image seeker is sim ulated and a template matching method is proposed based on gray and features in order to study the target recognition probability of optical image guided missile and improve the capability of missile attacking the target in complex background autonomously. Then the FOV and template matching method are combined together and optimized to design a target recognition algorithm which is used to recognize the target in complex battlefield background. Experiments in which missile-target distance, directions of targets entering the FOV of image seeker and the complexity of background are different, are designed to validate the algorithm and study the target recognition probability of optical image guided missile when targets are in complex background.
