Abstract

The pyrolyzates of lactide-caprolactone copolymer ( PLC ) were quantitatively analysed and F-t curves were drawn from pyrolysis gas chromatography (PyGC) data. The pyrolyzates were identified by. simultaneous methylation pyrolysis gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. Results showed that PLC copolymer become decomposed at 350 C and the complete decomposition temperature is about 450 C The thermal stability of the copolymer is weaker than its homopolymers and its maximum decomposition temperature ranged between 410 C and 500 C. The PLC sample is mostly the block-copolymer and the lactide chains, parts are the mainly components.
