Study on optimization design of pump vanes in hydrodynamic torque converter

Abstract

A new approach to solve optimization design problem of cascade system of hydrodynamic torque converter was put forwards and optimum resolution was gotten by SQP method on response surface model, which was built by orthogonal DOE with parameterized modeling and flow field analysis. Result shows that this approach is available and effective; and it is verified that stall torque performance changes greatly when torsion degree of hub exit angle of pump vanes, and maximum transmission efficiency drops lightly when stall torque ratio increases.
