Abstract

The black powder were coated with GZ-1 type silicon resin. Structure and morphology of the coated black powder were characterized by SEM. Combustion behaviors were studied by measuring sensitivities and output properties. The results show that coating agent is firmly coated on the surface of black powder, and moisture absorption of the coated black powder is reduced by about 58%, and impact sensitivity, friction sensitivity and electrostatic sensitivity are reduced by about 60%, 57% and 56%, respectively. However, flame sensitivity and output properties of the powder with and without coating are almost same.
