Abstract

The decoloration characteristic of polypropylene anion exchange fiber for sulfitation cane sugar juice was studied. The effects of decoloration for sulfitation cane sugar juice were observed. The results show that the fiber has obvious decoloration ability for sugar juice in sedimentation procedure and the color quantity of the decolored juice is less than 30° St. After rebirth for 90 times the average decoloration degree is 84%. Compared with ion-exchange resin, the polypropylene anion exchange fiber has some advantages such as larger exchange capacity, higher exchange and rebirth speed, and better antipollution ability. The decolored sugar juice can be made into high quality sugar.
