Abstract

To study the writing sequence of road character marks, experiment scene of road character marks writing on different sequence was designed using UC-win/Road scene simulation software firstly. And then both non-driver and driver were required to perform in the experiment. Finally, the reasonable road character marks writing sequence was put forward. The results indicate that when the number of road characters was less than 4, drivers' expectation was positive sequence. Otherwise drivers' expectation was inverse sequence. Road character marks were familiar phases and most drivers tended to read with guess. If the number of character was too large, it could be divided in terms of phases. In the end every phase was less than 4 characters. The sequence between phases was inverse, but within phase was positive.
