Abstract

The shock wave produced by supersonic flight makes the laser wave propagation of a laser short-range detection system on the aircraft emerge the refraction causing ranging error and the reflection causing the clutter. According to optical theory, an engineering algorithm of the refraction and reflection effects of the shock wave based on ratio of air density between front and back of the shock wave was proposed. The formulas of ranging error and clutter power caused by the effects were deduced. The simulation and the analysis were worked out from macro view. The theoretical foundation was provided for the research of laser short-range detection.
