Abstract

Aiming at the blank of channel model and communication system of omni-directional ultraviolet communication and the short communication distance, channel model of omni-directional based on Monte-Carlo method was established, and the characteristics of SNR was obtained. Also based on UV led arrays and PMT, an omni-directional UV communication system with a communication rate of 115.2 kbit/s was developed, though the omni-directional optical design of transmitting/receiving antenna and 4-ppm modulation. The experimental results of SNR were consistent with the simulation results. The omni-directional UV communication was established in the 100 m range, and the bit error rate (BER) was better than 1×10-5.
