Abstract

Based on the requirement of the DPL laser with high stability and low-noise to laser diode (LD) driver, a high stable LD driver was developed. The LD driver had a maximal current of 7 A and slow turn-on protection circuit and current overload protection circuit. The mechanism of highly stable driver and the main factors which may influence the current stability were analyzed. The current stability obtained in the LD driver is 2.0 × 10-4. This LD driver was used in a high stable DPL laser. The power stability of the laser is within 4‰ in 3.5 hours.
