Abstract

The detection principle of a new type of electromagnetic fuze based on the target eddy current electromagnetic induction and effective impedance principle are discussed. The equivalent circuit model of the projectile and target relative motion is formulated. The detection equation of the target eddy current magnetic induction is obtained from solution of Maxwell equations with given initial condition and boundary condition. Also given is the signal processing circuit design. Experimental results indicate that there is remarkable target characteristics difference between ferromagnetic metal and non ferromagnetic metal, and the designed detector is of good sensitivity in the oscillatory frequency range of 5.0-6.6 kHz. The experimental results match with the theory analysis result. The detection method has not only the capability to identify the characteristics of a metal target but also the ability of anti-jamming.
