Abstract

In order to research the human color discrimination thresholds of different colors, the threshold experiment at the four color centers is carried out by a panel of 6 observers with normal color vision using color stimuli that is generated by integrating sphere based on the psychophysical method of limits. The visual results is compared with the data generated by CRT. The observer test accuracy is estimated using performance factor PF/3,then experimental color discrimination are plotted in a*b* diagram. The detailed processing and analysis of the experimental results indicate that the color discrimination thresholds of human eyes is not same for the four color regions and the color difference formula CIEDE2000 is superior to CIELAB in different aspect. The experimental data can provide references for the improvement of color science and color-difference formula.
