Abstract

In this work, the crystallization process for the open-framework aluminophosphate AlPO-HDA (Al16P20O80H 4·4C6H18N2) has been studied in the hydrothermal system Al(i-PrO)3-H3PO 4-1,6-hexanediamine-H2O by XRD, ICP, 27Al and 31P MAS NMR techniques. An intermediate phase Al5P 5O20(OH)2·C6H 18N2·3H2O, denoted APO-M1, with an Al/P ratio of 1:1 is formed firstly, then transformed to AlPO-HDA. The study on the crystallization of AlPO-HDA might give some insight into the formation mechanism of microporous materials.
