Abstract

Low energy density of a single cell is one of the problems that obstruct the development of electric vehicles, and the density will see a further decline after packed into a battery pack. Minimizing the weight of the battery box has now become a most efficient way to improve the battery energy density. In order to meet the actual requirements of the 2 tons electric sanitation truck, a lightweight and reliable battery box is designed, which increases battery energy density; furthermore, the structure is analyzed in static and shift conditions through finite element method, and the optimization is utilized to achieve a further weight saving under the premise of ensuring the strength.
