Abstract

To improve the steering easiness and road feel of the vehicle, an electric power steering (EPS) system with the steering torque as the control target was developed. A Simulink based simulation model was built for the vehicle EPS system on the basis of the analysis of the mathematics model of the EPS system. The simulation results show that the developed EPS system improves the steering easiness and road feel, at the same time, the control performance of the system does not change with the parameters of the system and has stable steering torque characteristic.
