Stationary striations in hollow cathode discharge

Abstract

Stationary striations are investigated in cylindrical hollow cathode discharge. The results show that the hollow cathode discharge images and striation spacing exhibit three phases as the discharge currents rise, corresponding to the transition of discharge mode in the hollow cathode.
