Abstract

In this paper, we consider the stabilization of a one-dimensional system of type II thermoelasticity with voids, which consists of two wave equations for the porous-elastic model and a type II heat equation. We study the polynomial decay of the model with only one global damping on the heat equation of type II. For some special cases, optimal orders are confirmed. Exponential stability is also obtained when there are two local dampings.
