Abstract

A novel speech visualization method for Chinese Mandarin single-finals is proposed for speech training of the hearing impaired. In this method, the first three formant frequencies of the input speech are mapped to RGB primary colors, and each final are characterized by different colors. The results of the subjective test show that a high recognition rate is achieved with the method.
