Abstract
Based on the analysis of the principle and traits of the electric power steering (EPS) for electric bus, the key techniques in development of EPS for electric bus are studied. The structure layout of EPS for electric bus is discussed and the FEA method is used to optimize the structure dimension. The matching design of EPS is analyzed focusing on the assist characteristic, assist motor and sensors. The decision and servo control of the objective current of assist motor are discussed aiming at the kernel EPS control issues. The reliability design of EPS is also analyzed. The successful application of EPS on the electric bus can be realized based on the resolving of these key techniques.
