Abstract

The solubility data of dihydroxylammonium 5,5’-bistetrazole-1,1′-diolate (TKX-50) in four pure solvents (water, formic acid, acetic acid, and ethanol) and three binary solvents (water + formic acid, water + acetic acid, and water + ethanol) at temperatures ranging from 298.15 to 333.15 K at atmospheric pressure were measured by the equilibrium method. The experimental data in pure solvents were correlated by the van’t Hoff equation and the modified Apelblat equation. It was found that both of them could obtain the good correlation results according to RADs, RSMDs, and correlation coefficient (R2). The solubility of TKX-50 in binary solvents was correlated with the (CNIBS/R-K) equation, the van’t Hoff-Jouyban-Acree model, and the Apelblat-Jouyban-Acree model. For the binary solvents studied, all of the models provide a satisfactory correlation.
