Abstract

Fractal conservation law (FCL) is based on a partial differential equations (PDE) with fractional operator relies on an anti-diffusive equation of fractal type. This kind of equation is combined use of fractal antidiffusion and classical diffusion. The fractional operator creates instabilities which are controlled by the diffusive operator. Thus, it perform fractional anti-diffusion for signal enhancement, while the denoising is done by classical diffusion. In this paper we applied this filtering method for simultaneous noise reduction and enhancement of seismic data. Numerical computation is based on fast Fourier transform. We utilize this superior capability to recover seismic events. Experimental results shows that the new method has a superb performance in suppress random noise and improve continuity and clarity of reflection events.
