Abstract

Based on the structure and componential properties of tracked vehicle suspension, a nonlinear half-vehicle model with 8 DOFs is used to simulate the suspension. It also provided ways and means of establishing and analyzing the model with the ADAMS. A time domain road input construction method is proposed, and the influence of the track is considered. Simulation results under the representative velocity and road input proved that the model can simulate the geometrical nonlinearity of the suspension very well, even when some road wheels bounce off the ground. Based on this model, the optimum suspension damping and stiffness coefficients under different running conditions can be work out with the optimize function of ADAMS.
