Simulation method of idling characteristic of hydrodynamic torque converter stator wheel

Abstract

The flow-guiding effect of the stator wheel in the fluid circulation of the hydrodynamic torque converter was analyzed and a bladeless simulation method was proposed to obtain the torque characteristic and circulation flow performance of the converter under idling condition of the stator wheel. The idling speeds of the stator wheel were monitored at some set monitoring points. The comparison of the results with the traditional simulation results and the existing experiment data showed that the proposed bladeless simulation method is characterized by higher simulation accuracy with less computation work of the stator wheel idling simulation.
