Abstract

A damage effect of hypervelocity projectile on multi-plate structure by a was numerically simulated. A numerical simulation method of that the multi-plate structures are impacted by hypervelocity projectile was studied. The projectile and the first plate were modeled using a smoothed particle hydrodynamics(SPH)method that the smooth radius is variable, and the other plates of the multi-layer structure were s modeled using Lagrange algorithm. The numerical simulation results are in good agreement with the experimental results. The damage effect of hypervelocity tungsten alloy, RHA steel and aluminum balls on four-layer structures was researched.
