Abstract

Recently, the research on the penetration of projectile into concrete target focuses on the normal penetration. But the research on the oblique penetration is not enough and has not formed a complete and effective analytical model. Basing on the penetration experiments, the oblique penetration of projectile into concrete targets was simulated using finite element software ANSYS-LS/DYNA 3D. During the simulation, the HJC model which considers the material damage was used as concrete material model, and Johnson-Cook model as projectile material model. The simulation results of the oblique penetration of projectile into concrete are consistent with the experimental results. It can be seen that the computer numerical simulation method is effective to solve the problem of projectile oblique penetration when the material model of projectile and target and their corresponding parameters and the control conditions were selected correctly. The computer numerical simulation can make up for the lack of experiments and provide an effective reference for the further experimental and theoretical analysis.
