Abstract

Sidelobe suppression is one of the major subjects in LPI phase-coded signal processing. Low sidelobe level is essential for target detection. Traditional sidelobe reduction techniques are not effective for phase-coded signal unless large calculation is involved. What's more, traditional sidelobe suppression filters are generally not applicable when target is eclipsed. In this paper, a novel sidelobe reduction method based on code agility is proposed, which can apply to all kinds of phase-modulated sequences including seriously eclipsed radar echo without heavy computation.
