Abstract

The standardization of an IEEE 802.11ad protocol as a Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) certified Wireless Gigabit alliance (WiGig) is a major step forward to bring Wireless local area networks (WLAN) in millimeter wave frequency band. The rapid growth of technology in WLAN along with increase in number of personal devices has made its security a challenging task. Keeping in mind the security requirements and vulnerabilities exist for WiGig network we propose a selforganized security framework for Intrusion Detection and Prevention system (IDPS). This framework is inspired from human immune system and it provides an ability of dynamic detection and mitigation of attacks along with recovery mechanism for WiGig network. Security solutions are also presented for WiGig devices against physical threats and malwares.
