Abstract

As a special kind of complex images, the preprocessing of SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) image is an important part of image interpretation. Relative to the traditional SAR image processing method, this paper proposes a new pretreatment based on CFAR (Constant False Alarm Rate) and ROA (Ratio of Area) algorithm. This method first proceeds image segmentation using CFAR detection and then edge detection based on ROA algorithm. The new method is tested on different SAR images. The experimental performance is in good agreement with the theoretical study and show that this method can achieve better results relative to the usual methods.
