Abstract

This paper presents an MTI radar system working in S-band. The system is composed of SIMO array with one transmitting antenna and five receiving antennas, RF front-end and base band signal processor. The radar adopts stepped frequency continuous waveform, and generates high-resolution range profile from the I/Q signal obtained by self-mixing of transmitting and R1 receiving channels. In the aspect of angle detection, the CSM angle spectrum is generated from the I/Q signals obtained by mixing the transmitting channel with all receiving channels. In the outdoor measurement scenario, the radar can perfectly detect human targets 5 m in front and 10 degrees apart.
